Charles Myrick Obituary

CHARLES I. MYRICK VALPARAISO, IN Charles I. Myrick, age 70, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Golden Living Center. He was born July 27, 1941 in Chicago to Irving and Loretta Myrick. Charlie had been a Tool & Die Maker with Thorgren Tool & Molding in Valparaiso for over 30 years retiring in 2002. He will be fondly remembered by many for his white beard and ponytail blowing in the wake of his Harley-Davidson Sportster as he cruised around town. Others will remember his passion for fishing having founded the "Steelheaders" anglers club, love of antiquing or skilled woodworking projects. But mostly he will be missed for his easy smile and friendly manner to anyone passing his way. Survivors include his daughter, Kara (Dusty) Burnau of Huntington; former wife, Sharon Myrick of Valparaiso; stepson, Donald Tatone of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren: Hunter Phillips, Elizabeth and Alexander Tatone. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Sheryl Freeman. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Kouts Family Baptist Church, 403 E. Indiana Ave. with Pastor Joel Gilbert officiating at 5:00 p.m. Visitation and a light lunch will precede the service from 3:00-5:00 p.m. MoellerFuneralHome.com

We remember back in the bowling days with Charlie, and oh the laughs we had! Even years later running into him at the store, he had that smile that was contagious. Rest In Peace Charlie!
