My wife, Terrie and I would like to extend our condolences to Phil and the rest of the Potempa family. You all have been very lucky to have him in your lives for this long of a time since my father passed away when I was 31. May you have the peace of mind that he is in a better place

Phil, I was a devoted reader of your column, and have made many of the recipes your family has put in your cookbooks. I am sincerely sorry for your loss, what a wonderful life your father has had. You are very fortunate to have enjoyed him for so many years. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
