Christopher Preston Obituary

Christopher J Preston of Phoenix, AZ passed away August 31, 2025 at the age of 64.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan Preston, and his son, Thomas. He is survived by his son Joseph Preston, daughter-in-law Suzanne (Tomitz), granddaughter Juniper, his sisters Lisa Preston Putnam (Ed) and Lori Preston-Cox (Robert), his ex wife Jan Preston, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Chris grew up in Highland, IN, but he had an independent spirit and made Phoenix his home directly after high school.

He built his life and raised his family there.

Chris had a gift for connecting with people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel at ease. He always had a story to share, whether it was about fishing, building go-carts, or one of the countless adventures that filled his life. He was always up for a good game of pool, especially with Joe.

Chris was known among family and friends for his culinary skills. He could turn whatever ingredients were at hand into an amazing meal. Cooking was his way of showing love, and many will remember the meals he shared.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, but we welcome friends and loved ones to remember Chris in their own way. Those who wish to honor his memory may consider a donation to the Central Arizona Shelter Services (www.cassaz.org) in honor of the Preston Family or the memory of Christopher and Thomas Preston.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support shared during this difficult time.
