DANIEL M. FLORES, SR. HAMMOND, IN
Daniel M. Flores, Sr, age 78, U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, of Portage and formerly of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Beloved husband for 52 years to Janet A. Flores (nee Teeple); loving father of Timothy (Evon) Flores, Regina (Ronald) Jones, Gregory (Darlene) Flores, Antonio (Millie) Flores, Mark (Reva) Flores, Scott (Eva) Flores, Daniel Flores, Jr., Jodi (Mike) Fentress, Michelle (Mario) Garcia, and Jennifer (Angie) Flores; cherished brother of Eloise (late Ernest) Munoz; proud grandfather of 30; dearest great grandfather of 13; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Daniel was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School. He was with the 101st Airborne during the Korean War. Daniel was a Precinct Committeeman of the 2nd District of Hammond. He enjoyed coin collecting and was an avid sports fan, especially with the Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame. He was retired after 20 plus years with Allis-Chalmers. Most of all, Daniel loved spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family Friday, April 5, 2013 from 3:00-9:00 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond. Services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME. Interment at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I took care of Dan for several years at the Portage and Hobart Dialysis units. He was very special.
