Daniel Mach Obituary

Daniel W. Mach MUNSTER, IN - Daniel W. Mach, 67, of Munster, IN, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017. He was born on February 17, 1950, in Chicago, IL, to the late Benny and Margie Mach. He graduated from Bishop Noll High School in 1968. Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Michele (nee Franciski) Mach, and son William Mach. Also surviving him are his brother, Don; sisters: Diane (Dennis) Simala and Nancy (Val) Martinez; brothers-in-law Jerome (Sandy) Franciski, Timothy (Diane) Franciski, and Thomas (Pammy) Franciski; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel worked as a construction supervisor, surveyor, and utilities engineer for Conrail, Illinois Central, and Canadian National Railroad. He also served as a Democratic Munster precinct committeeman for several years. Daniel enjoyed playing guitar, bowling, and was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears football fan. He enjoyed working outside, and took pride in maintaining his yard and garden. He also was a "grillmaster" and made the best barbecued chicken, ribs, and steaks in town. Daniel was fond of his cats Eddie and Kelly and all of the neighborhood dogs! In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in his loving memory. Visitation will take place Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at BURNS-KISH FUNERAL HOME, 8415 Calumet Ave. Funeral mass will take place Friday, November 10, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN 46321. Interment will be private. Daniel will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. www.burnskish.com

Michelle, I am very sorry for your loss of your husband and soulmate.

Dan and I always exchanged well-wishes and quick memories of our high schools after 8 AM Mass at St. Thomas More. I shall miss him.

Deepest condolences to Michele, Billy, Don and family .. Dan was the friendliest neighbor that one could have, always with a smile and a desire to help in the times of need. Dan had a profound knowledge on yard and bush maintenance and took pride in maintaining his own yard. We will miss him a lot. May his soul rest in peace.
