Deborah Mabra Obituary

Deborah S. Mabra, age 86, of East Chicago passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at home.
She is survived by 2 sons, Dwayne (Monica) Mabra and Robert (Londa) Mabra II; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 sister, Delores Bey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11am at St. Luke AME Church 3543 Block Avenue East Chicago. Rev. Gwendolyn Sanders, officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Gary.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at St. Luke AME Church from 5 to 7pm with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Ivy Beyond The Wall Ceremony at 6pm.
Mrs. Mabra was a retired teacher from the School City of East Chicago and a member of Eta Kappa Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

To the Family of Debora Mabra,
My mother (also an E C. School Teacher) was both a good friend and mentor to Debroah. We knew her as Bobo. She was one of the funniest people I have ever known! I always enjoyed listening to her stories when she came to our house so that my mother could alter her dresses and other clothing. She was the same each and evrytime I saw her. A truly loving and caring human being!

Auntie Bobo, we had so much fun on our trip to Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand. You always had something funny to say and kept me laughing the whole time. We all miss you very much and I´ll always have a smile in your memory.
