Dorothy Wozniak

DOROTHY WOZNIAK CHESTERTON, IN Dorothy Wozniak, age 83 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015. She was born on March 15, 1932 in Lowell, IN to William and Vera (Hayden) Taylor. Dorothy was a loving wife to Donald A. Wozniak, they married in Chicago, IL on October 17, 1953 and he preceded her in death in May of 2005. Dorothy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. While her children were young, she taught CCD classes at the church and ran a private daycare service from her home. She later worked and retired from the hotel industry. During her working years she was general manager for Howard Johnson in Michigan City. After retirement Dorothy spent winters in Lakeland, FL with her husband. She is survived by her sons: Michael (Sharon) Wozniak, Jeffery Wozniak and Kenneth (Patricia) Wozniak, all of Chesterton, IN; daughters: Susan (Jim) Nickerson of Valparaiso, IN, Barbara Wozniak of Chicago, IL and Karyn (Roger) Kobos of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren: Robert Brown, Christina (Ryne) Wheatley, Ryan Brown, Anthony Wozniak, Teressa Wozniak, Timothy Wozniak and Kirsten Wozniak; and great grandchildren: Peyton Brown, Landon Brown, Mikayla Wozniak, Jackson Wozniak and Zachary Wheatley; brother-in-law, Robert (Cecelia) Wozniak; sisters- in-law: Rosemary Grose and Joanne (Donald) Lowery. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vera Taylor; sister, Beverly Bates and step brother, Frederick Rapp. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton, IN 46304 with Father James Meade officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304 with a Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383 or St. Patrick Catholic Church.
