Elizabeth Brueggemann Obituary

Elizabeth (Betty) Brueggemann (Nee Kunde) Grafton, Wisconsin Elizabeth E. Brueggemann (nee Kunde), passed away the morning of December 29, 2006. Betty was born on March 22, 1931 in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Otto and Elizabeth Kunde. She married Wallace Brueggemann of Nashville, IL, on September 1, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hammond. Wallace preceded her in death on August 23, 1993. Betty graduated from Hammond High in 1949. She met Wallace during his teaching internship at St. Paul Lutheran School in Hammond. She was a faithful and strong supporter of Wallace's work for the Lord as a Lutheran school teacher and principal, a ministry that served congregations in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Lincoln, Nebraska until his retirement. She held many office positions through her working life, including over 25 years with American Signature Printing as an administrative assistant. In 1996 she moved to Grafton, Wisconsin to be nearer to her family. In Grafton she worked for AAL Insurance agency and volunteered in the church office at St. Paul Lutheran in Grafton. Betty was the beloved mother of Phil and Mark (Karen) Brueggemann, both of Grafton, WI; loving sister of Rudy Kunde of Munster, IN and close companion of Arnie Jobs, Sauk Village, WI; two grandchildren Alison and Katie Brueggemann, "her sweetie" also survive her. She will be remembered by extended family and numerous friends. Her sense of humor and quick wit will be missed. Betty enjoyed life to its fullest, although a life that pales in comparison to the life she now has with our Lord. The family wishes to thank the many physicians and health care givers for their professionalism and superb care. Special thanks also go out to the fine staff at Newcastle Place nursing home who provided her loving comfort and care during her final months. Along with her strong will and confident faith in our Lord, as well as the many prayers of friends and family, she was able to experience life beyond expectations. Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington, Grafton, WI, on Tuesday January 2, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. The entombment will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN on Wednesday January 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials can be made to the choir fund at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, Concordia University Chicago or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton, WI.
