Eugene "Geno" Wydrinski, age 92, of Schererville, died quietly and peacefully in the embrace of his tearful wife Mildred and children on Thursday, July 31st 2025.
Geno was born November 20th 1932 in Calumet City, Illinois.
Geno and his wife Mildred's love of travel took them around the USA and most of Europe. After retirement they winter vacationed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where they were joined annually by both family and friends.
Geno worked for Rand McNally in Hammond IN for 3 years before he was drafted to serve in the Korean war. After returning home with the rank of Sargeant he began to work for Western Electric as an Electrician. Following the merger of AT&T and Western Electric. Geno worked at AT&T in management until his retirement.
Geno had a ready smile, and was a kind, generous, and a well-liked and respected man. Geno was a faithful Catholic devoted to the Virgin Mary.
Devoted husband of Mildred and father to (late Jeanine Doescher), Sharon Sullivan and Christopher (Amy) Wydrinski.
Caring grandfather to Jennifer (Nee Doescher) Jacqueline (Nee Doescher), Jack and Kate Sullivan, (the late Andrew Wydrinski), and Matthew, Luke, Eric and Greg Wydrinski, great grandfather to Noah and Nicholas Shipley, and father-in-law to David Doescher.
Visitation for the family will be on Friday August 8, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1 E. Wilhelm St. Schererville, IN with a Mass at 10:30am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL at 2pm.
Donations can be made to St. Michaels Church.
