Dear Celia and family,
In remembrances and with a pause of reflection, my eyes quickly swell to fill with tears, my heart fills with joy, and my face shines with a smile... natural I guess for love. Tears because of the one who will be missed. Joy because of the one who jubilantly shared the love of God. Smile because of the one who is now in the presence of our great God, and we know that we will see Jesus, too! You know it is true as time moves ahead we find God placed special people in our lives, (we may never had known it at that time) that as we get older we see more clearly His hand and realize He was growing us closer to Himself through relationships with dear saints. Time has moved on since my years at Faith Baptist, God used this one, Pastor Standridge and his family to impact me in my formable years and even after, in my growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Even after; is because he stayed in touch and would send letters in his old English handwriting. Included with every mailing would be a copy of Parson to Person. What a treat, I would read it and find wisdom from God's Word and too, comfort, as I would hear his voice as I read it. In 2008 I listened to one of pastors sermons from time past, I was 45 years of age. When my mother passed I came upon a cabinet filled with cassette tapes from sermons he preached at Faith. She must have kept every tape. I kept only a few, and I must add that I regret not keeping all of them after the one I listened to as it was the right timing and God spoke to me through that message. It had to do with being ready for the Masters use, his message referenced Peter and being ready, how Jesus had prayed to the Father for Peter as Satan wanted to sift him. Peter after denying Christ three times was strengthened and being prepared for the Masters use. Pastor used an analogy of gold being purified and the dross having to be removed, he made mention of people can be busy doing work for God of our own strength. As He removes the dross of our life, we take on His image and one that others can see His reflection. Then are we ready and our work unto God becomes a result of the Spirit and not of ourselves and He provides renewed strength and resultant joy. What a “Glory” moment for me! Yes I am one who is a benefactor of Pastors walk with the Lord and obedience to Christ - - Love is the result! Celia, Allen, Cheryl, Anita, and Craig, I love all of you and pray for God's continued grace, His peace and His love be upon you. In Christ love, Brad Snyder

Dear Celia and Family,
Fred was one of a kind. As one of his "Calvary kids", he had a huge impact on my life. I remember a few of us getting together in his tiny office for Bible Study on Monday mornings before school. I remember the winter retreats we went on, the trip to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, the trip to Practical in Johnson City, NY, then on to Niagra Falls, and on and on. Fred was a big influence on so many young lives, lives that may have gone the wrong way without his leading and prayers for each of us. I know your heart is aching with him gone from your life, but that you are rejoicing that he has finally met the Master. He will be missed, but his legacy will live on through all of the lives he helped to change.

to the Standridge family,i'm truly sorry for your loss. the world has lost a great man. he is now up there with the lord. he would always talk about how beautiful god's kingdom is and now really sees and knows its beauty. it is never a goodbye but a see you soon. we will all be with him again one day walking the golden streets with god. we are glad that he was able to see and be apart of the kids' life and dedication to the lord.

I know the heartbreak you are feeling right now, it is bittersweet. Know that I have been and will continue to pray for the Standridge family. Pastor Fred was such a blessing to our family for many, many years. I know he shouted “Glory” when he saw our Saviour face to face!

Dear Celia & Family,
Pastor Fred was loved by so many, as he reached out in Christ's love to them, by praying & by the many cards he sent. (Our family still has ours, from 1987.) Our son was seriously injured & we knew the Brown's at Calvary, who had asked their congregation to pray for us. Pastor Fred didn't even know us, as we were members at Suburban, here in Highland. One day we'll see him again with our Savior,in Glory.
Praying for each of you,
Joe & Jackie Brady

Dear Celia and Family: Throughout my life, whenever I was asked to name someone who had a most significant influence in my life, the first person I always thought of was Fred Standridge. I consider him my spiritual father. Your impact together on the lives of "The Calvary Kids" from Highland will only be known in eternity. I just wish I could have been in heaven to see Fred "meet the Master"! "What a Day that (was)!"
Fred always shared the analogy of the eagle! May God renew your strength; may you mount up with wings, like eagles;may you run and not be weary, and walk and not faint...as you wait upon the Lord in these days. Many love you and are praying for you!
One of "The Calvary Kids,"

Pastor Fred was always an encouragement to our family through the years. After Gary went to Heaven on July 19th, Pastor Fred sent me a card and words of encouragement everyday for several weeks. He was a true servant for the Lord and a very good friend. Your family will be in my prayers.
