Gerry was a good friend when I taught at Portage High School. He was a devoted and proud father, always ready to talk about his children. He was simply a good, kind man. I am saddened by his departure from this life. God bless his family as they mourn his passing.

Mr. Lasky was my Economics teacher my senior year of high school (1990) but I have known him since I was about 7 years old. He was friends with my sisters Lisa Campbell and Lori Campbell (1962 - 1984) and I remember the first fay of school I accidentally called him by his first name and he and I laughed . . . And then he sternly corrected me and said . . "You mean . . Mr. LASKY RIGHT!! LOL!!"

My sincerest condolences to Alicia and the Lasky family. Jerry and I worked together for many years as educators in the Portage Township Schools. During our time together I developed a high respect for Jerry's dedication, empathy for students and staff, knowledge, and integrity. He was an exemplary educator and person as well as a great guy to be around. His smile still makes me smile.
May his memory be eternal.

He was at most a great man of this world. I just wish that my fellow classmates (senior class 2024) could still have him around. He has done so much for us that we did not deserve his compassion.
My condolences to his family.

Jerry was one of the nicest people I knew while employed at Portage High School. What a good guy and family man! He is someone who loved his family to the nth degree. I only wish I had kept in contact over the years. He was truly a nice, decent, and compassionate man. God bless Alicia and children. I sincerely grieve at Jerry's passing.

I´d like to echo Mr. Swisher´s sentiments (Mr. Swisher is and will also be remembered very fondly). I was literally talking about Mr. Lasky yesterday and lessons I had learned from him on managing my money. I had not thought about him in decades but yet, memories flowed yesterday. He was a very kind and patient man. I want to extend my condolences to his family and friends.

I was a middle school teacher in Portage and had the pleasure of having both Jerry and his brother Mike in my physical education classes. They both showed up to class eager to participate, not only to have fun, but to offer assistance to those classmates who needed a helping hand. I was not at all surprised that Jerry entered the educational field. His desire to impart knowledge and guide his students and colleagues was a lasting attribute. He will be missed but more importantly he will be remembered ......
