James Niep Obituary

James C. Niep

HOBART, IN - James C. Niep, age 59, of Hobart passed away October 20, 2024, from complications of Parkinsons disease. He was a beloved brother of Carol (Harry) D'Aloisio, Dave, Robert; and a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents: Carl J. Niep and Dorothy (nee Duszynski) Niep. Jimmy worked at Technical Weigh in Griffith, IN, for 33 years. He was a technician and worked his way up to service supervisor. Jimmy loved the outdoors and took yearly fishing vacations to Canada with friends to spend a week secluded on an island only accessible by boat. He also was an avid golfer and played in a local league and was an avid Bears fan. James especially liked hanging out with friends at home. He was a kind gentle soul, and we are all richer for having him in our lives.
