JAMES SISAMIS Obituary
James Sisamis, age 86, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016. James is survived by his wife: Maria Sisamis; four children: Dr. Marie (Bob) Johnson, Nick (Therese) Sisamis, Harry Sisamis, and Dr. James (Patricia) Sisamis; five grandchildren: Karen, Nichole, Alexis, Garrett, and Roxanne; five great-grandchildren; one sister: Sophie (Gust) Vossos; and special cousin: Helen K. Vallas. He was preceded in death by his parents: Nicholas and Mary Sisamis. James was an U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He formerly worked as an Industrial Engineer at U.S. Steel and was retired from Bank Calumet as a courier. James was a graduate of Emerson High School and Indiana University. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville, IN at10:00 AM with Fr. Ted Poteres and Fr. George Pappas officiating. Interment will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN. Memorial donations may be given to the Food Pantry at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. As the friends grew older and moved away, they saw less and less of one another but somehow always seemed to manage communication at least once every year. I last saw Jimmy a couple of years ago when he paid his last respects to my brother, Donald Levy. I hugged Jimmy tightly and told him how good it was to see him and we spoke briefly of old times. Jimmy was always very good to me..."Levy's little sister". My deepest sympathy to his family for their loss. Jimmy will be missed and always loved.
