Oct. 19, 1937 - November 8, 2023

HEBRON, IN - Jo Ann Steffel (nee Lee), age 86, a lifelong resident of Hebron, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Jo Ann is survived by her four children: Jamie (Mark) Uzelac, Gregory (Susan) Steffel, Jeffrey (Janet) Steffel and Mark (Amy) Steffel; seven grandchildren: Nicholas and Timothy Uzelac, Sarah (T.J.) Weberg, Zachary Steffel, Kayla (Michael) Shahbaz, Eric and Emily Davis; three great-grandchildren: Gatlin and Colter Weberg and Avery Erny; and her nieces, nephews and good friends.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Steffel; parents: Fitzuagh and Nellie Lee; step-father, Bill Cottongim; and sister, Rose Prochono

Jo Ann was born and raised in Chenoa, KY and moved with her family to LeRoy, IN as a teen. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 1954. Jo Ann and Donald were married on July 27, 1957 and began their family together in Hebron. She was a former member of St. Helen's Catholic Church. Jo Ann loved to cook, tend to her garden and can their goods.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM on Friday, November 17, 2023 at The Gathering Place, 131 N. Main St., Hebron, IN 46341.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jo Ann's name to the Lutheran Heart Transplant Patient Assistance Fund: 7910 W. Jefferson Blvd. Ste. 200, Ft. Wayne, IN 46804: Attn: Transplant Social Worker.
