April 13, 1941 - June 9, 2024
MUNSTER, IN - John McGarrity, 83, of Munster, IN, passed away peacefully at home with his family on June 9, 2024. He was born April 13, 1941, in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Son of the late James and Margaret McGarrity of Hubbard, OH.
John graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Business Management and Accounting.
He was a Navy Veteran serving aboard The USS Tortuga in San Diego, CA. He was also a member of the American Legion and Elk's Club.
In 1980, he was named "Man of the Year" by the Franklin, PA, Chamber of Commerce.
He leaves his wife Patricia; daughter, Kelly Rodgers (Carnell); son, Michael McGarrity (Teresa); and two granddaughters: Katie Rodgers and Ellie McGarrity; sister, Mary Waite and brother Jim McGarrity; and several nieces and nephew.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. service at BURNS-KISH FUNERAL HOME, 8415 Calumet Ave. Munster, IN.
