Julaine Kraay Ziegert Obituary

Julaine Kraay Ziegert 1944 - 2017 and William Lewis Ziegert 1945 - 2017 "Love never dies, it simply changes form." Julaine Ziegert "It is truly a friendly Universe." Bill Ziegert We -- Bill, David, Mark, and Jonathan Ziegert -- are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our parents, Bill and Julaine Ziegert. On Saturday afternoon, June 24th, as our parents drove from their home in Boise to their cherished cabin in McCall, ID - they were involved in a car accident that resulted in both of them making their transition. True partners since college, together they raised their children with a strong foundation of Unconditional Love, Support, and Acceptance. They deeply loved their four boys, and extended this profound love as their family grew to include daughters-in-love (Amy, Pam, and Amanda), grandchildren (Hailey, Will, Henry, Ella, Greta, and Owen), and great-grandchildren (Riley and Charlotte). Simply being together with their family gave them endless joy. Bill and Julaine loved each other without limits and viewed each day as a brand new adventure. This zeal took Julaine to many places over her life, including the Soviet Union, Nepal, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Greece, and other far reaching locales. Connection was always at the heart of her travels. Connecting with people, connecting with cultures, and connecting with herself. She was a student of spirituality and life. She created the Center for Unlimited Possibilities while living in Valparaiso, IN. Through this center, she held many gatherings that combined her infinite Love of people with her unwavering belief in each of us. Bill was an exceptional and dedicated leader, truly valuing the contributions of others. With intention, integrity and respect, he led a number of companies and teams to be their best. He loved to golf and be outside hiking with Julaine. He was endlessly thoughtful and generous, sending multitudes of postcards to his grandchildren, or regularly over-tipping restaurant servers. He radiated peace and contentment, helping his family and friends to truly know, as he said, that "it's ALL good". Their focus on infinite possibilities led them to create a beautiful life together in both Indiana and then Idaho. In recent years, this created new chapters for them, including numerous adventures in their RV. They truly embodied their beliefs, reaffirming as Bill always said that "it is a friendly Universe." They were examples of what it looks like to Live Fully, in Love. Julaine and Bill cherished many close friends in their lives and often recalled how they were deeply inspired by and grateful for so many wonderful people. These friendships expressed the truth that "giving and receiving are one and the same." They were shining examples of Unconditional Love and Joy, and we are grateful to carry that Love and Joy with us. As Julaine always said "Love never dies, it simply changes form." We know in our hearts that this is true. We will celebrate their lives with a "Celebration of Love" on the late afternoon of October 13th in Boise, ID. My sincere condolences to you all. I had the great pleasure and good fortune of working with and for Bill from the beginning and throughout his career at Inland Steel. He was the consummate professional and a gentleman of the highest order in a tough business environment. I, like others, am saddened by your father's and mother's passing but the silver lining is they left a great legacy in you all, his children.

While I did not personally have the pleasure of knowing these obviously wonderful people, I must say that this is the most beautiful tribute I have ever read, and I was deeply moved. Knowing that your parents were able to share their profound love with family, friends, and this universe is so extraordinary and rare, and because of the exquisite love expressed in your tribute, it is apparent that they passed this gift along to their family. What a remarkable legacy. Peace and love to your family.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I've only met your mother once, at an Inland Steel function, but your father, Bill was a fantastic Professional, gentleman and my mentor.

When he was at Inland, he was my boss as the Manager of Industrial Engineering. When he became Vice President, we became closer. I can not say enough about him and how he "took me under his wing." He always seemed to give me the projects that no one else wanted but he never let me fail. He would permit me to go in the direction I chose and then reel me in and guide me in the right direction.

When your dad and mom left Indiana, I was sad and glad at the same time. I knew they were following their hearts to their next adventure but I was losing my friend and teacher.

That was the last time I saw your mom and dad and I've always been curious what lives they were touching.

Once again, I am so sorry for your loss but I know that they have left you with the guidance you need to move forward. God Bless you all as I know you already have been. Sincerely in Prayer. Doug
