Kenneth Pasternak Sr.,75, of Calumet City, IL passed with his family by his side May 10th, 2023. He was born January 19, 1948 to Yvonne Wittorp. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents Peter and Martha Breclaw. He is survived by his wife Linda; sons Kenneth Jr., Peter, and Michael; brother Jerry; sisters Terri and Martha; and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Kenneth attended T.F.North high school from 1962-1966 and became a pillar to his community serving as Calumet City Park Commissioner (1980-1993), Thornton Township Trustee (1993-2001) and coached and mentored many kids in youth football (Calumet City Eagles, South Holland Jets), wrestling (CMPD Wolverines, Dolton Falcons), and baseball (CCCL Giants).

He retired from Calumet Memorial Park District as a superintendent of grounds and maintenance (2017). Prior to his employment at the park, he worked and ran his own business (Calumet Carpet Service). Kenneth was an avid Chicago sports fan rooting for the Bears, Bulls, Cubs, and Blackhawks. He wore his heart on his sleeve and his loss will forever be felt by his family. His impact as husband, father sibling, friend, coach, and father figure will remain in the memories of many.

A celebration of life ceremony will take place June 28th at Hobart Community Center on Lake George, 111 E. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart IN 46342 from 3-7 with a eulogy at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Bring your best memories and pictures to share. If you have any photos you would like displayed, reach out to family members prior to the engagement. Donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or St Jude's Hospital in his name.
