CROWN POINT, IN - Marcus W. Malczewski, age 86, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023.
Marcus worked for the Lake County Highway Department for approximately 55 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, an avid gardener, and enjoyed gatherings regularly with his family.
Marcus was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, his parents, Flora and Maximilian Malczewski, daughter-in-law, Paula Malczewski. He is survived by his three children: Dr. Marcus (Rosemarie) Malczewski of Crown Point, IN, Dr. Michael Malczewski of Winfield, IN and Melissa Malczewski of Milwaukee, WI; eight grandchildren: Damien (Natalie) Gass of Valparaiso, IN, Dr. Matthew (Dr. Rubi) Malczewski of Milwaukee, WI, Samantha Tobias of Chicago, IL, Dr. Kristen (Nathaniel) Hull of Crown Point, IN, Elise (Dr. Nicholas) Howard of Crown Point, IN, Mallory (Rudy) Garza of Indianapolis, IN, Meredith Malczewski of Crown Point, IN, and Jessica (Jonathan) Solan of Madison, WI; eight great grandchildren: Nora, Emma, Samuel, Mackenzie, Dominic, Archer, William, and Amelia; two sisters: Patricia Codespoti and Martha Prendergast both of Crown Point, IN, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amvets.com.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at BURNS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. Inurnment at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. www.burnsfuneral.com
