Matthew J. Hoffman Hegewisch, IL Matthew "Matt" J. Hoffman, age 90, of Hegewisch, IL, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Riley House Hospice in Munster, IN. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor Hoffman (Lascik); loving father of Joan Hoffman, Ronald Hoffman, Donna (late Arthur) Scherer, Mathew (Patricia) Hoffman and Richard (RoseMary) Hoffman; cherished grandfather of Denise (Bill) Perry, Arthur Scherer, Derek Hoffman, Michael Hoffman and Mark Hoffman; loving great-grandfather of Kaitlyn and Alison Perry. Also survived by his brother, Frank (late Mary) Hoffman; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters: Ann (late Peter) Nemcevic, Agnes (late Peter) Minock, Kay (late John) Evans and Mary (late Bill) Vincent. Matt retired in 1981 after 47 years of employment with GATX. He enjoyed his retirement fishing and the outdoors at Pelican Lake in Orr, MN. Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 S. Baltimore Ave., Chicago, IL. Services officiated by Rev.
