Matthew Wojciechowski Obituary
Matthew J. Wojciechowski, age 83, of Manteno, IL, formerly of Lansing, IL, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa (nee Dombrowski); children: Frances (late Jack) Duffy of Lansing, IL, Joanne (Ray) Wagner of Lansing, IL, Daniel (Sandy) Wojciechowski of Crete, IL, David Wojciechowski of El Paso, TX and John Wojciechowski of Chicago Heights, IL; beloved grandfather of Lisa Marie Wojciechowski, Hayley Wagner, Matthew Marcel Wojciechowski, Mary Kate Duffy, Antoinette Wojciechowski; caring brother of Charlotte (nee Wojciechowski) Hojnicki; brother-in- law of Mary (late Harry) Kuzniar; favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Helen Wojciechowski; and brother, Eddie Kuzniar. Private funeral services were held Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Road, Lansing, IL. Cremation followed services. Matthew was a gifted musician who played the organ, piano and accordion by ear and loved to entertain an audience with his sense of humor. He was a retired electrician and truck mechanic from Inland Steel. Matthew was a WWII Army veteran serving with the 155th Infantry as a heavy machine gunner in East Indies and New Guinea. He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, Woodrow Wilson Post #20. Matthew was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time of loss. I will never forget the musical talents of Uncle Matt and his sense of humor that seemed to shine through even the most dreary days of his life. He is now entertaining the Lord with a hotdog and piece of pie atop the piano. Keep the heavenly musical notes flowing my dearest Uncle Matt!
