Michael Moreau Obituary

MICHAEL "MIKE" CHARLES MOREAU HAMMOND, IN Michael Charles Moreau, age 59, of Hammond passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born on September 17, 1952 to Charles and Mary (nee Brennan) Moreau in Chicago, IL and grew up in Dolton, IL. Michael graduated from Thornridge High School in 1970 and became an expert tradesman in auto body repair. He was gifted in his profession and had most recently worked for Bud's Auto in Griffith, Indiana. He had resided in the Hessville section of Hammond for the past 15 years. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; aunts: Dorothy Brennan and Kathleen (Will) Barton. He is survived by his beloved stepsons: Jack and Ian Weeden; and their mother, Colleen; three sisters: Marianne Powell, Linda (Hyrum) Loscher, and Kathleen (Albert) Ferguson; one brother, James Moreau; uncle, Edward (Bud) Brennan; nieces and nephews: David and Robert Moreau, and Melissa Stephens, Richard and Michael Martinez, Greg, Jennifer, Kathryn, Leanne, and Mark Loscher; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins. He leaves many dear friends who affectionately called him "Fuzzy" due to his bounteous head of hair. Two of his best friends were his dogs: "Smoky" and "Maggie." Mike loved working on cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed swimming and scuba diving and had a smile that lit up his face. He was a loving and devoted stepfather, brother, and friend and he will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate Mike's life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with brother-in-law, Hyrum Loscher officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home. Cremation remains will be scattered privately.
