MICHAEL PIERS Obituary

MICHAEL DAVID PIERS "MIKE" FLAGLER BEACH, FL Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life in honor of Mike Piers, who peacefully passed away at home recently with his wife, Dawn, by his side. Mike was 63. Mike was an avid golfer at Riviera Country Club and frequently seen with his motorcycle riding buddies from the Daytona Harley Owners Group. Living near the ocean, Mike enjoyed the great outdoors -- bicycling, fishing and sailing, traveling and dancing with Dawn. Mike was born August 19, 1952 in Indianapolis, IN to Eugene and Betty Piers. In 1972, he married his sweetheart, the former Dawn Bubac, orginally of Gary, IN. Mike graduated from Purdue University, settling and raising their family in Chesterton, IN, before relocating to Flagler Beach, FL in 2004. Mike is survived by his wife, Dawn; a son, Jason Piers with daughter-in-law Laura Carter- Piers (CO), a grand daughter, Hannah Piers, his trusted four-legged companion "Sugar"; siblings: Diana Klecka (TX), IN, Ronald Piers, Jerry Piers (Amy) and Vincent Piers. Mike was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Anna Kadish and Brian Piers. Mike's extended family includes brothers and sisters in-law: Diane Kozubal (Paul) IN; David Bubac (Susan) MO; Dwight Bubac (Janet) NC; Duane Bubac (Julie) NE; Druanne Choker (Eric) WA; and Dennis Bubac, recently deceased (Carol); and other family members, including several beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Mike's life, which will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015. The celebration will begin with a motorcycle/car procession. Mike requested donations be directed in his memory to: Camp Boggy Creek, 30500 Brantley Branch Rd., Eustis, FL 32736.
