Paul Kamradt Obituary

Paul Kamradt Paul Kamradt passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 3, 2017. He was 88. He is survived by his devoted spouse, Joy Kamradt, his loving children: Doug (Joanne) Kamradt, Rick Kamradt and Melani (Sam) Kamradt Kimery; five grandchildren: Kori (Jim) Kamradt Bathurst, Jessica Kamradt, Kirk (Ashley) Kimery, Honey (Ben) Kimery, Wyatt Kamradt; sister-in-law Jeanne (Reed) Brosius; nieces Jenelle Brosius and Jenny Allen; nephews: Thomas Brosius, Jeff Kamradt and Eric Kamradt along with many other caring friends and family. He was preceded in passing by son, Scott and his wife Gwendolyn Kamradt, brother Carroll Alexander Kamradt Paul was born in Calumet City, Illinois on February 12, 1929. He was an all-state football player at Hammond Tech in high school. He served in the US military for four years during the Korean Conflict. He met Joy at Wells Street Beach in Miller, Indiana. They were married in 1954. They lived in East Chicago (Roxana) where they had and raised four children, Doug, Scott, Rick and Melani. Paul was a natural athlete - a football player, swimmer and fan. Sports were a big part of family life, from little league to high school and beyond. He was also an avid fisherman, no one could fillet a bluegill faster or better. He loved to fish, and teach the kids as well. There were many great days spent on the lake at the cabin with family and friends, fishing, swimming and relaxing. Paul is also survived by good friends of many years George Timko Jr., Andy Royco and preceded in death by lifelong friend Matthew 'Butch' Krucina. Paul was big hearted. He was generous with his time and quick to help a family member or friend. You could always count on him to help you out of a tough spot. He also loved to tell jokes and make people smile A Celebration of Paul's life will be held in the spring and will be announced at a later date. Many wonderful covering years. My son still has a scar from a beautiful Afghan dog. I also knew and graduated with his little brother from ECR.

We were so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. He was a nice man with a great sense of humor. We will miss him, and so will my Uncle Hilton (Ben). He thought the world of Paul.

Joy, I admire your dedication to him when he needed it most. You are a very special woman.
