Richard Lee "Rich" Pruitt

RICHARD LEE PRUITT "RICH" VALPARAISO, IN Richard "Rich" Lee Pruitt, 69, of Valparaiso, formerly of Highland, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the VNA Hospice Center. He was born on April 19, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Carey and Virginia (Renberg) Pruitt. Rich was a graduate of Purdue University and went on to work at Inland Steel for 33 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling with his wife. On November 18, 1961 in Chicago, Richard married Kathleen Dillon who survives along with three children: Jennifer (Ronald) Barany of Portage, Richard "Scott" (Deborah) Pruitt of Valparaiso and Christopher Pruitt of Valparaiso; two siblings: Nancy (Jerome) Rudy of Ferndale, WA and Carey (Darla) Pruitt of Highland, IN; five grandchildren: Katie, Hunter, Nicholas, Abigail and Rhema. Rich was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, John Pruitt. The family of Richard would like to send out a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Arjun Gupta and staff, and to Porter Hospital and VNA Hospice nurses and technicians. A funeral service is planned for Friday, March 4, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN. A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
