Robert Fraser Obituary

Robert H. (Bob) Fraser passed away at home after a long battle with Parkinson's and cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kathie); daughter, Ronette (Bryan Kollwitz) Stinnett; son, Robert T. Fraser; grandchildren: Carly (Ryan) Lysek, Robert C. (Leah) Fraser, Caitlyn (PJ) Lynch, Shayna Stinnett, Kaylee Stinnett, Jamie Hendrickson; great-grandchildren: Arabella, Adelyn, Maxton, John, Finley, Bailey. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Marie Fraser; brothers: Alexander (Diane) and Eugine Fraser.
Bob was a dear friend of many. He was known for his restoration work on his Mopar muscle cars. His cars were published in many magazines and books.
He did not want any visitation or celebration of life. He preferred to donate himself to IU Medical.

I knew and worked with [or against?] Bob for many years, starting with when he was the MTA's representative to Wayland, [and I was chairman of the bargaining team] through his time as personnel superintendent to when he came in as the 'hired gun' attorney from Stoneman, Chandler and Miller. He was a fine and upright person [an old fashioned descriptor these days] and a skilled and noble 'adversary'. He is among the four people I know well who have been afflicted with Parkinson's Disease. Watching helplessly has torn me up in each instance. His Obit reminded me how much many of us more of less octogenarians have in common, having come up through the comparatively idealistic era during which every bright young person didn't aspire to be an investment banker and make unlimited amounts of money. Even if some folks didn't understand it, Wayland Superintendent Zimmerman's decision to recruit him to be Asst Superintendent was truly inspired.
May his family find comfort in his memory and may he truly rest in peace.
