Robert Wyllie Obituary
Robert H. Wyllie "Whip", age 74, of Merrillville, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at his residence. Born February 25, 1939 to John and Ruth Wyllie. He retired as a supervisor for U.S. Steel Co., sheet and tin mill with 34 years of service. Graduate of Gary Edison High School, Class of 1956. He served in the US Navy. Member of Glen Park Eagles #2413. Coached Merrillville Little League. He was a disciple of Coach Ditka and a diehard Chicago Bears fan, also a crossword puzzle fanatic. Preceded in death by his parents: John and Ruth Wyllie; brother, John Wyllie. Survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Wilding Wyllie, who he married on November 12, 1960; children: Robert (Kathy) Wyllie II, Jeffrey (Janice) Wyllie, Robin (Doug) Luebcke, Randy (Olivia) Wyllie; grandchildren: Michael Luebcke, Anthony Law-Wyllie and Montgomery Wyllie; brother, George Wyllie. There will be a memorial visitation from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Rendina Funeral Home, 5100 Cleveland St., Merrillville. Cremation was held.

So sad to hear of Bob's passing. He was a great guy and a great dad. He touched so many lives though coaching, and just being there for his kids. May God bless the whole family during your time of sorrow, and bring fond memories back to mind.

I have always admired Bob since before we all left Gary Edison HS and worked for a time at Bethlehem Steel. He will be greatly missed, in particular his sense of humor. My condolences to all in the family.
