I just found out today about Dr. Raelson. My daughter was a patient of his. He always made puppets for her out of the popsicle sticks. He was a very nice Doctor. Deepest sympathy to his family.

I just learned of this terrible loss last night.I knew Ron while on the Medical Staff at Porter Memorial, I considered him one of our best primary care physicians. He was a quiet, thoughtful, caring, physician who came to the hospital to see patients when many PCP's were staying in their offices. He sent me really very nice people when he needed psychiatric consultation and I could always depend on him to provide the best holistic primary care to my patients. He was well liked by all of us. His sister Bobbie worked with our office providing MH services. Together, they were an invaluable resource to all the familes of Porter County. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to his wife Char and family.

Dr. Raelson was, by far, the "coolest" doctor out there. Such a great man! He will be missed by many, many people. God bless his soul and my deepest condolences to his wife and family.

What a loss of such a special man. My wish is for the family and friends of Dr Raelson to be comforted at this time of such grief. Luckily, this good man was touching so many lives in such a wonderful way. God knows how to spread the 'joy' and who to give that privelege to. Ron was a chosen man. I will always hold the memory of Dr. Raelson, dear to me. He delivered my oldest son in 1989 and remained our physician, until he moved away. My heart is very saddened. May he be at peace and may you all somehow find comfort in this difficult time.

We are deeply saddened by the news of Dr. Raelson's passing. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor to care for our family. He has been a doctor to our daughter since she was 4 days old, and has always calmed my "first time mother" jitters. He was kind, patient and reassuring. Never rushed and he always listened. He was integral in diagnosing my own chronic illness, and referring me to a specialist who is also wonderful and has exceeded all expectation. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

I worked with Dr. Raelson last year as a new physician in the chesterton practice. I found him very supportive and helpful. He was a competent, caring and compassionate physician and his patient's loved him. I was quite saddened by the news of his passing. My prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I was truly saddened to learn of Dr. Raelson's passing. He was such a great doctor and a caring and compassionate person. We shared the same taste in shoes, and would often comment on each other's shoes and where we had bought them, which was funny to me. I could talk to him about anything and he always took the time to listen and always made me feel better. He will be missed, and as a dcotor, he cannot be replaced.

I was so incredibly heartbroken to learn of Dr. Raelson's passing. He was the most wonderful, caring, compassionate doctor I ever had! I can't even begin to express the gratitude I feel for all the outstanding care he provided over the years. No matter what the reason for the visit, he always listened, cared, and made sure your needs were met. He had such a way about him and could make you feel better with a little chit chat too. I was very saddened to hear of Dr. Raelson's passing. I had the privilage to work with him at Porter Hospital, as well as have him for my family physician. He was always respectful and kind to everyone. My prayers are with all of his loved ones at this time of sorrow.

I've known Ron many years, first as a microbiology instructor at IUN, and worked with him at PMH for a few years. Later, he became my mother's physician, and always looked over her. Ron lived his life to the fullest, he was a brilliant and yet gentle being, to all who knew him, he will be greatly missed. My sympathy to his family, friends.

Our family has many things to be grateful for and one of them is Dr. Raelson. Over the past 13 years he has been our family doctor and seen us through many medical emergencies. Dr.Raelson was such a large part of our lives as our doctor and as a man who journeyed with us through common experiences. Andrew went to HS with our youngest and one of his daughters graduated Purdue in '97 with our eldest. We found each other at the graduations and visited while we waited for our new graduates!. We feel an emptiness without him already and we will be praying for his family during the time ahead. We will never forget how he helped us with a family crisis many years ago. He was God's gift to us and we are healthy in body and mind today as a family due to his care. May he know that we loved him very much. Thank you, dear lord, for letting our lives be touched by Dr. Raelson's. We are feeling lost without him today.

Please accept my deepest condolences on your heartbreaking loss. Though I did not get to work with Dr. Raelson directly his phone calls to the switchboard were always a pick me up. A kind word or funny comment from him were always a guarantee. I was also privledged to get to know Dr. Raelson on a more personal note when visiting him as a patient. I have never met someone so compassionate towards his patients and the work he did. His kind words and wonderful smile will hold a special place in so many hearts, including mine.

Our hearts sunk with the news of Dr. Raelson's death. Our doctor since we moved here, he was the doctor you looked forward to seeing! Of course we got excellent care, but he also took the time to be our teacher and we always enjoyed our conversations with him. What a loss. Our condolences to his family.

My kids were patients (over 13 yrs) of Dr. Raelson since they were 2 and 4. As a single mom, I can't tell you the number of times he eased my concerns during the numerous office visits. Not to mention the relief I felt when having to go to the after hour clinic and finding out he was there. From chronic ear aches, and sore throats with my daughter, he always mentioned how large her tonsils were, to my son's chronic gerds/acid reflex, ADD issues. When I took my 4 year old in with problems breathing. He examined her, and realized there was something in her nose. Using a long instrument, he extracted a packing peanut. I will never forget the look on his face as he pulled this out of her nose. Even though we were not "friends" he was a major part of our lives and our family will miss and remember him.
