Sharon J. Shackleton "Nana" DYER, IN - Sharon J. Shackleton, "Nana", (nee Spelde), age 65, late of Dyer, IN and formerly of South Holland, IL and Dolton, IL passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at home with her beloved family at her bedside. Beloved wife of Gary Shackleton for 46 years. Loving mother of Amy Slavena of Crown Point, IN, Becky (Joe) Antczak of Crown Point, IN and Robert (Nicole) Shackleton of Crown Point, IN. Cherished grandmother of Zoey Slavena, Ella Slavena, Ben Antczak, Addie Antczak, Austin Shackleton and Aiden Shackleton. Dear daughter of Florence and the late Anthony Spelde. Dearest sister of Anthony (Emily) Spelde, Jr., Ed (Sue) Spelde and Dave (Lori) Spelde. Fond sister-in-law of Sandra (Tom Mooney) Jensen. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by her four legged babies Maisi and Butterscotch, and dear friends Curt and Terry, Bob and Pat, Jim and Kelly. Sharon was a graduate of Thornridge High School Class of 1970 where she and Gary met. Retired employee of "Franciscan" St. Margaret Hospital, Dyer Campus. Member of Immanuel United Church of Christ Church Highland, IN. She taught Sunday school, was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, Mary Kay Consultant where she won many sales awards and an avid quilter and seamstress. Sharon's six grandchildren were her world. Memorial visitation Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 West 97th Lane ( 1/2 block west of U. S. 41 / Wicker Ave at 97th Lane) St. John, IN 46373 from 2:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Services at 5:00 p.m. Rev. Richard J. Mangnall, officiating. Cemetery private.
