Lee Buesing Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Springs Funeral Services - Platte on Jan. 13, 2026.
Lee Buesing joined his wife, Elizabeth, on January 6, 2026. Lee was born on March 9, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Henry and Ella Buesing. He was raised in the Chicago area and was a 1961 graduate of Thornridge High School. He had a childhood filled with mischief and roughhousing with his brother, with many visits to the Field Museum. Upon graduation, he immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force and embarked upon his adventure. When he was stationed at Warren AFB in Cheyenne, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Svalstad. After a bit of convincing, she agreed to marry him on August 28, 1965. Thus was the beginning of their 50+ year life together.

He was stationed in California, Korea, Germany, and Texas before retiring to Colorado Springs in 1981. He moved to Littleton in 1986, but was happy to return to the Springs in 2008 upon his second retirement.

He loved his cars, motorcycles, boats and trucks. He also loved woodworking, building steam engines, and going on riverboat cruises. Most of all, he loved spending time with his daughters, son-in-law, and grandpups.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ella Buesing and his brother, George Buesing. He is survived by his daughters, Aimee (Eddie) Calderon and Sunniye Buesing of Colorado Springs, and his stepgrandson, Anthony Calderon.

The services will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church on January 23 at 11:00am.
