Stephanie F. Gabrys

STEPHANIE F. GABRYS (NEE OGOREK) BRIDGEPORT, CT Stephanie F. Gabrys (nee Ogorek), passed away peacefully Saturday, March 24, 2012 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT after a brief illness at the age of 96. She had been a widow for four years, after having spent 72 wonderful years with the love of her life John Gabrys. Stephanie was an active, life-long member of St. Florian's Parish. She was a past president of the St. Florian's Mothers' Club, as well as having been a member of the Bingo committee for ten years. She also served as the president of the St. Catherine's Lodge for 40 years. She leaves behind her loving children: Roberta (Joseph) Glorioso and John (Elizabeth) Gabrys; caring grandmother of John (Tania) Glorioso, Joseph (Dawn) Glorioso, Jacqueline (Joseph) Peccerillo, Laura Gabrys and Rebecca Gabrys; doting great grandmother of Nicholas and Joey Glorioso, Anthony Peccerillo, Laura and David Rhodes, and Shelby Larson; and proud great great grandmother of Justeen Downey Champlin and Aiden Arthur Benites. She also had many wonderful nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her loving siblings: Veronica Wojcik, Balbina (Leo) Gabrys, and Chester Ogorek. She was predeceased by brothers: Walter, Stanley and Eugene Ogorek. Visitation from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Opyt Funeral Home, 13350 S. Baltimore Avenue, Chicago, IL 60633. Funeral services at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Opyt's, 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Florian Church. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. (773) 646-1133.
