Stephen E. Bardoczi Schererville, IN Stephen Edward Bardoczi, age 86, of Schererville, IN, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Lola Bardoczi; five children: Bonnie Bardoczi, Julienne (Kevin) Blissmer, Stephen John (Jeanine) Bardoczi, Christopher (Sherri) Bardoczi and Linda (Ted) Semesky; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Jim (Bette) Bardoczi, Bob (Sandy) Bardoczi and Frank (late Audrey) Bardoczi; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bardoczi; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister, Anne Tonkovich; and brother, Joseph Bardoczi. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Holy Trinity Hungarian Church, 4759 McCook Avenue, East Chicago, IN with Fathers Alphonse Skerl and Terry Steffens officiating. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at the Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 1920 Hart Street, Dyer, IN from 3:00-7:00 p.m.; prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Bardoczi was a member of the American Legion Post 369 in East Chicago, IN who will post colors at 6:30 and of the Chicago Regional Carpenters Union. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater aboard the U.S.S. Appalachian during WWII. His proudest accomplishments were his family and his construction work on many of the landmark buildings in Chicago, IL including the Sears Tower, John Hancock Building and McCormick Place.
