December 14, 1930 - February 10, 2025

Theresa (Terry) Figueroa (nee Janik), age 94, of Merrillville, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025. She formerly resided in East Chicago, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Figueroa, her son, Mark Figueroa and sons-in-law, Ray DeLara, and Donald Watts. Loving mother of Kathleen DeLara of Mineral Wells, TX, Karen (Jaime) Ortiz of Santa Ana, CA, Judi Salas of Schererville, IN, JoAnne (Nelson) Arroyo of Merrillville, IN and Matthew Figueroa (Jeff) of Merrillville, IN. She was a cherished grandmother of fourteen; an adoring great-grandmother of twelve; a sister of Dorothy Figueroa of East Chicago, IN, dear aunt to many nieces and nephews, and many friends, loved ones and relatives.

She spent most of her career (1979-1998) working at St. Patrick Nursery School/Parish in East Chicago, IN. She also worked at St. Mary Catholic Church in Griffith, IN before retiring.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Free Spirit Interfaith Church, 701 E Clark St., Crown Point, IN. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., Mass at 12:00 noon with Rev Doug Klukken officiating. She will be laid to rest at a later date at Mount Mercy Cemetery in Gary, IN. No flowers please.
