Verderate Newman Obituary

Verderate Newman "Ven" East Chicago Verderate Newman "Ven", age 53, of East Chicago passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Catherine Hospital. She is survived by one daughter, Shylonda Ellison of East Chicago; one granddaughter, LaTwanika Lardydell of East Chicago; six sisters: Elizabeth "Angel" Adams, Vanessa Adams, Wonia Jackson and Portia Dudley, all of East Chicago, Patricia Dudley of Chicago, Annette (Kenneth) Woods of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers: Ezelle Parker of East Chicago and Eugene Parker of Atlanta, GA; devoted friends: Willie Askew, Sr. and Willie Askew, Jr., both of East Chicago and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006, 11 a.m., First Baptist Church, 4911 McCook Avenue, East Chicago, Rev. Dennis B. Bennett, Pastor; Bishop Marvin Eskew officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 9, 2006 First Baptist Church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service.Private cremation will be held at the family's convenience. Mrs. Newman was a past employee of Premier Candy Company. Hinton & Williams Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Thanks Ven for being a big part of my life. I will always cherish all the moments we had together. You and your family adobted me as your sister and your best friend. I will always be there for Shalonda and Twanika. We all are going to miss you so much. You are now in a better place and I will see you when I get there.
