I was a student in Mr. Schultz's 4th grade class at St . Joe's in Dyer, 1963. His first teaching assignment after college. I still
remember every word of every verse of "Frog Went a'Courtin'"
that he taught us. He would send Kathy Winicki and me down the street to buy candy that he threw out to the class. He gave each of us a big storybook for Christmas. His car had cool headlights with covers that retracted automatically.

I was very sorry to hear that Walter passed away. I enjoyed our occasional tet-a-tets, usually before or after the mass at the Polish monastery, particularly about our mutual experiences in Whiting and especially at our "alma mater" St. Adalbert Polish school. He was a great guy and I will definitely miss him and his smile.
Our sincere condolences to you Kathy and your family.

Wally was a wonderful person, husband, friend and brother-in-law. I have known him almost all my life. He will always be remember and missed for all the generous and thoughtful things he did for everyone.

Long Live the memory of Walter Schultz. Thank you from the thousands of students and athletes that you have positively influenced during your many years as a teacher, coach and mentor. We are all better people from knowing you. I have known many teachers in my life but you will always be at the top of my list. My heart goes out to the Schultz family at this difficult time... God Bless
Once a Pioneer always a Pioneer.
