William "Bill" Gramhofer Jr.

WILLIAM "BILL" GRAMHOFER, JR. PORTAGE, IN William "Bill" Gramhofer, Jr., age 78, of Portage passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at home. He was born on April 9, 1933 in Chicago, IL to William and Ann (Elashik) Gramhofer who preceded him in death. Bill was a retired Electrician from LTV Steel and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage and also won a scholarship to the Chicago Art Institute. Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Miterko) Gramhofer of Portage; three children: Catherine (Peter) Sands of Scottsdale, AZ, William (Donna) Gramhofer III of Portage, and Richard (Laura) Gramhofer of Crown Point; five grandchildren: William Gramhofer IV of Michigan City, Sarah (Derrick) Wei- denaar of Chesterton, Megan and Nicholas Gramhofer of Crown Point, and Shaunna Bell of Phoenix, AZ; one great grandson, Jameson Bell; four brothers and sisters: Charles Gramhofer of Round Lake, IL, Betty-Ann Roland of Chicago, IL, Michael Gramhofer of Dyer, IN, and Patricia Fuller of Calumet City, IL; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN with Father Andrew Corona officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN.
