ALEXANDER SERPICO Obituary

SERPICO--Alexander, 1980-2021. Alex Serpico, 41, of Manhattan, died at home on May 7, 2021. A prodigiously talented film editor, Alex brought happiness to millions through his work with Saturday Night Live and innumerable television productions. Alex leaves behind a hole in our hearts that can never be filled, but loving memories enough for a thousand lifetimes.

I was friends with Alex in High School--we were both among the first class of boys at Masters. I just now happened upon news of his passing and I'm so sad to hear it. He was a sweet guy with such a warm heart.

Alexander, I've seen you a lot in the trading discord. I never really knew you on a personal level, but I think I should be writing this because we've had instances where we've talked quite a bit. Based on that, you are as real as it gets. You had great commentary on stocks and you were liked and loved by many. I will personally remember you forever. You cannot be replaced.
May God bless you and your family.

Alex was an extremely kind hearted and thoughtful guy. He was easy going and was definitely a person you would want to get know. I know he’s resting easy, and watching over us.

From Xtrades to the Seprico family, Alex was such a beautiful soul & a great member of our community. You could talk to him about absolutely anything & never felt judged. He always had something positive to say or a funny gif to reply with. We are deeply saddened to hear the news & will greatly miss him. He was definitely considered family to us.

“We are all united not only in our desire to pay our respects to Alex but rather in our need to do so. For such was his extraordinary appeal that the tens of millions of people taking part in this service all over the world via television and radio who never actually met Him, feel that they too lost someone close to them in the early hours of Friday morning. It is a more remarkable tribute to Alex than I can ever hope to offer him today.

Alex was the very essence of compassion, of duty, of style, of beauty. All over the world he was a symbol of selfless humanity. All over the world, a standard bearer for the rights of the truly downtrodden. Someone with a natural nobility who was classless and who proved in the last year that he needed no royal title to continue to generate his particular brand of magic.

Today is our chance to say thank you for the way you brightened our lives, even though God granted you but half a life. We will all feel cheated always that you were taken from us so young and yet we must learn to be grateful that you came along at all. Only now that you are gone do we truly appreciate what we are now without and we want you to know that life without you is very, very difficult.

We have all despaired at our loss over the past week and only the strength of the message you gave us through your years of giving has afforded us the strength to move forward.”

Alex had a smile that would light up the world. He was a connoisseur of tasty foods. Took pleasure in the little things.

There was an ineffable depth to his character that inspired a sense of awe and wonder and curiosity in the souls of people lucky enough to have crossed paths with him.

He loved and was loved by many.
He is missed, and will be missed.
And to those he loved, I tell you:
Live. Love. Eat.

Hope to see you in Elysium someday my friend,
meanwhile as you dream free beyond the astral plane,
or whatever may or may not lie beyond the void.
