ALVIN STEIN Obituary
beloved husband, father, grandfather and extraordinary lawyer died on Friday, January 26, 2018. He was predeceased by Frances, his wife of 67 years, and survived by his children, Emily, Debbie and Tom, son-in-law, Don and grandchildren, Olivia and Alex. In addition to his boundless love of and devotion to his family and friends, Alvin was passionate about the law and will be remembered for litigating the well-known Berkey Photo v. Eastman Kodak case, which established new antitrust case law. He also was an avid Long Island fisherman. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Community Synagogue, Sands Point, NY on Monday, January 29 at 11:30am followed by burial at Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY.

We are so sad to learn of Al's passing. He was such a big part of our lives for a long time--mentor to Charles, beloved by Jaclyn and considered to be family (along with Fran and the rest of the Stein family) by the Greenman clan. We were so happy he was able to celebrate Jaclyn's wedding. He will be sorely missed.

Truly sad to learn of Al's death. He and Fran were long-time friends of my parents and I was fortunate, as I started my career, to work with him on a few matters in NJ. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Al Stein. He was an extraordinary attorney and a great teacher. He was a lawyer's lawyer from the greatest generation who provided sage advice for decades. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Al Stein. He was an extraordinary lawyer and a great teacher. His career spanned for decades and he was a lawyer's lawyer in every sense of the word. Numerous lawyers, like me, were guided by him and will never forget him. Condolences to his family.

Dan and I were shocked and said to hear of Al's passing. My parents have know the Stein's for more than 60 years. Phyllis and Fran met teaching together. Jack met Al and became a great dear friend ever since. Tom always referred to Dan and I as cousins, and to this day it means so much to us. Our prayers go out to Emily and Deb and Tom and entire Stein family. Fran and Al and Phyllis and Jack will all meet in heaven and laugh as they always did.
