So saddened to only now learn about Porters passing. He was one of my closest friends during my years at Reuters and I loved him dearly as friend. One of the smartest guys, funny as heck and we spent so many hours talking about the complexities of life or sometimes just drinking the night away. We fell out of touch after Id moved away from NYC but he left a lasting imprint. These photos from a dinner with Ferg when Jay & I were back in NYC. Rest well buddy

I knew Andy in the 1980s when we both worked at DRI in Washington, D.C. He was such a bright spot in the office and fun to hang out with. Wonderful sense of humor and really sharp. I wish peace and love to his family.

I am saddened to hear the news of Andy's passing. He was a mentor. A boss. A dear friend. A tremendous "mench". The world is a far lonelier place without Andy.

I worked with Andy at DRI right out of college. He was such a wonderful, fun, bright person. I can still remember the utmost care he gave his beloved Red Sox uniform and his carefree, joyful personality. He will be sorely missed.

I first met Andy when he was an 18 year old freshman at Tufts and I was his Freshman Advisor. Fast forward 8 years and coincidentally I meet him again at Reuters when I first joined the company. We worked together for many years thereafter. Andy was so smart, witty and fun to be around. My sincerest condolences to his family. Rest In Peace Andy. I will miss you, my friend.

Andy was a great friend and one of the most brilliant guys I knew. He could take any situation and make it better. He had a way of charming people, making them smile, or laugh so crazy hard. He was always so full of life. I can't believe he's gone.

What you have that is way more valuable is experiences and childhood experiences are hard to top

We hung out after school. We created great childhood memories without knowing how great they would be.

Little know trivia is that Andy was often Waiter if the day at Tom Fooleries. He had quarters coming out of his ears at his birthday party. He could drive an Rx7 like and Indy race driver

Mel and Doree, thank you for your memories and kindness

I hate when bad things happen to good people.

The memories will not fade away

My heart and thoughts are with the Porter family. He spoke with such deep fondness about each of you. I only knew Andy a year, sadly. It was a year filled with laughs, fun, and sharing experiences. He first talked to me to trash the Yankees playing the Sox- it was his special talent. Andy had such a wonderful spirit and kind heart. He was great for a joke even if it was dry. I cared so much for him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Andy in High School, when he and my sister Diane were inseparable. Andy was always so kind, fun, smart, and adventurous! Whether it was hanging at the beach, or listening to rock music, Andy brought a sparkle to every moment. Years later, when Diane and Andy reconnected, I was so happy to see that same sparkle in Diane whenever she talked about him. I've never seen a couple more connected and in love! And knowing he was a huge dog lover made him even that much more special. When he heard I rescued my first dog, he would randomly send me texts that simply said, Bo? and I knew he wanted any and all videos and updated pictures. Andy is such a bright soul that will be deeply missed by our family, but never ever forgotten. My deepest condolences to the Porter family for your loss. I pray that your broken hearts will heal over time, and perhaps take some small comfort in knowing how much Andy's sparkle shined on so many....
