BENJAMIN FREIWALD Obituary

FREIWALD--Benjamin, passed away December 22nd, 2015 in Hollywood, California. Benjamin is predeceased by his mother Kathleen Preston Knight. He is survived by his father Joshua Freiwald, sister Jessica Watt, partner and mother of his child Laura Strayer, and daughter Imogen Freiwald. His family and friends laid him to rest in The Garden of Legends at Hollywood Forever on Friday, January 8th, 2016. Benjamin was born on May 12th, 1963 at Kaiser Hospital San Francisco. Benjamin is a long standing member of the ACLU. Donations in his memory can made at

Ihave just read that Ben has died.I am devistated by this very sad new's.
We were Great Friends in the 80s and 90s. I helped him strip the floor in the first "Earl Jeans"office's on Vine.
And He helped me out so many many times, especially when I was homeless in the late 90's and gave me my Air Fair in 2001 to return to England.
I often tried to phone him but it always went to an answer service. I wanted to pay back some of what l owed him. He wouldn't have accepted it though , he was just a very kind man always helping me out if he could even buying some of my Artistic Creations.... I just can't believe he"s gone .Oh Ben, my Dear Friend I will Talk to You in my Prayers ...Robert Bird.Walsall, England.
