BERNARD JAFFE Obituary

JAFFE--Bernard, Jr. (Buster) born August 26, 1930 died peacefully in his sleep at age 82 in Boca Raton, Florida. Ben is survived by his beloved children Brenda and Anthony, his half sister Betty Newman and his two grandchildren Georgia and Nicholas Jaffe. For those of us who knew Buster well, knew his lust for life was intoxicating. Handsome, witty, charming and generous he lived his life like it was not a dress rehearsal and took great pleasure in his adventures. Getting into college at Cornell and deciding to leave the first week to transfer and graduate from Syracuse exemplified his spontaneity to a tee. After serving in the Korean War as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force, the debonair young man started his long career on Wall Street working for Loeb Rhoades and ending at Smith Barney. Residing both in New York City and Palm Beach, Ben treasured his friends and family, traveling and his long standing relationship with all his favorite restaurants and bars. He lived by the motto, "The best is yet to come." He would want us to remember that and have no regrets. A man who danced to his own drum, his spirit and passion for life will continue to live through his friends and family. We love you Dad.

Hi Joe: Thanks so much for your kind words about my Dad. I am so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing and September 3 different year that is something. Hope you are ok. My dad had different sayings one of which was "enjoy life" sometimes it is difficult but I know that is what he would want. the Best to you, Brenda

As one of the many girl friends I can attest that there was only one Buster. He lived life to the fullest and every good restaurant and club in NY and PB will miss this special customer. A big hug to Tony and warmest feelings for Brenda.
