Bob Rappaport Obituary

RAPPAPORT--Bob S., 82, died on Sunday in Connecticut. Raised in Manhattan, he served in World War II in Los Alamos working on the Manhattan Project with the Corps of Engineers. Bob was President and CEO of Bar Press, Inc., a family-owned business that was founded by his father in 1931. A man of principles, Bob was deeply compassionate and quietly philanthropic. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy, two children, Lisa Rappaport Friedman and Gail Rappaport Eilers, two sons-in-law, Dr. Darren Friedman and Matt Eilers, and three grandchildren, Morgan Eilers, Bobby Eilers and Andrew Friedman. Shiva will be observed at Judy Rappaport's home from 11:00am to 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday through Thursday; 11:00am to 3:00pm on Friday and after 7:00pm on Saturday. The family has asked that donations be made in memory of Bob to either West Side Hatzoloh, 131 West 86th Street, New York, NY 10024 or Sherman Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 249, Sherman, CT 06784.
