Although I only got to know Bump quite recently, the small amount of time did not reflect the enormity to which he touched my life. He had much care and concern for his new "Wyeth family." He always asked about our well-being- for me, especially when my dad passed away. As Judie and Bump just purchased a beautiful new home, I had the pleasure of helping them in planting selections for their landscaping. Bump and I had a number of discussions on plant stock, species, genera, etc., and also on general design schemes for the garden. I will always have those special memories of Bump as he fervently requested his favorite rose color - blue/mauve!

We will miss him!

I hold a special place in my heart for Judie and was thrilled that she had found someone as wonderful as Bump to share life with. My husband and I were privileged to have been part of so many celebrations of their happiness together and share in the family's loss. He will not be in pain anymore, and for that we thank God. What a lovely, gentle man--may God hold him safely in the palm of His hand. With love and our deepest sympathy, Leah and Ron Kari

I just wanted to send my prayers and condolences to the family. I did not get the opportunity to meet "Bump", but have known his wife Judie for many years and know that he must have been an incredible person. May God continue to give you strength and peace. Remember the good times....

Although having known Bump for a relatively short time, through his beautiful marriage to Judie, it was a privelege to meet someone of his fine character, and to witness how much he was loved and respected by family and friends.

Maryjane and I will miss "Bump" greatly. We enjoyed his visits to Chicago and the opportunities we had to plan and attend reunions. Bump illuminated a room whenever he entered. Life will now be a little darker and sadder without him.

Culver was a significant aspect of Bump's life and his final days. I believe one reason I and many others have so much respect for Culver is because of our meomries of Bump's leadership during our student days.

May God bless us all.

Bump was an inspiration to all of us who spent the years at Culver with him. He was both an outstanding leader and gentleman.
