BURTON SHERMAN Obituary
December 26, 1923 - April 22, 2018. Retired New York State Supreme Court Judge. Beloved husband of Lila, devoted father of David and Roger, and father-in-law of Beth and Frederica, and loving grandfather of Nora. Fiercely loyal alumnus and ardent supporter of Yale University and Yale Law School. Steadfast fan of the New York Giants. He served in the New York State court system - the Appellate Division, the Civil Court, and the Supreme Court - with distinction, wisdom, and pleasure. He lived a long, happy, healthy life of joyful exuberance and leaves behind many dear friends and admirers. He passed away peacefully and gracefully in the presence of his loving family. Service 11am, Thursday, April 26 at Riverside Memorial Chapel.

To my friend Judge Sherman,
I will miss you very much. You were a wonderful man with integrity, compassion and enthusiasm for life. I will miss our talks about the past and our teams, the Giants, Yankees, Knicks, Mets and your great alumni Yale. I will miss you walking in our clinic just to hang out and talk for a few minutes. Your purpose in life made others happy. You were honorable, compassionate and made a difference in our lives. Good night my friend. May we meet again.
