Judith Moore Obituary

HAMPTON - Judith Gardiner Moore, 63, passed away peacefully at Riverside Convalescent Center, Hampton, on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008.
She was born March 20, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, to Nathalie Forbes (Gardiner) and Samuel Alexander Moore. Judith was a descendant of Pocahontas (12 generations removed) which was chronicled in a book "The family of William and Elizabeth Bolling Robertson of Richmond, Virginia 1585-1981" by Julian Hart Robertson and James Samuel Patton. She worked as a computer programmer in California prior to accepting employment at NASA Langley. Judith was a longtime resident of Olde Wythe, residing at 131 Wythe Parkway, and was a dedicated and active member of the Olde Wythe Neighborhood Association, where she gained city-wide distinction as the Webmaster and Secretary. Her hobbies included gardening, reading and crafts at which she excelled.
Judith is survived by her loving sister, Sallie Moore, of Reno, Nev.
The Rev. Susan H. Cothran, pastor of Wythe Presbyterian Church, will officiate at a Service of Remembrance at the Riverside Convalescent Center, 414 Algonquin Road, Hampton beginning at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008.

I met Judith while she was ill. I enjoyed conversation with her once and I will never forget her. She was impressive if she liked you.
