CHARLES SANGREE Obituary
Of Maplewood, New Jersey died on October 7, 2017 at the age of 92 after a brief illness. A retired United Church of Christ minister, he served churches in New York and Massachusetts for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Klausmann), sons Harry, Paul, and David and their wives and grandchildren Anna, Paul, Grace, Lisa and Stephen Sangree. Donations in his name should be made to the ucc.org.

Sorry to have just learned this. Reverend Sangree married my parents on April 20, 1958 at Christ Congregational Church, Woodhaven NY. I well remember him as a young child.

We just learned of Charles' passing. It was a real pleasure to be able to visit last year. We are grateful for more than 30 years of faithful support from Charles for our work in West Timor, Indonesia. Every life reaches farther than we can imagine. Global Ministries of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) extends our sincere condolences to the family of Reverend Dr. Charles Sangree. We related to him first in Florida, where we chatted on his balcony, and my colleague visited him last year on his birthday in August along with Global Ministries Mission Co-Workers John and Karen Campbell-Nelson, whose decades of service in Indonesia was of great interest and inspiration to Rev. Sangree. Global Ministries is very grateful for his deep commitment to God's global mission, and his generous support and encouragement over the years, especially for important ministries in Indonesia and East Timor that he held dear in his heart. We will miss connecting with him and wish God's peace among his family and friends.
