On your anniversary, I fondly remember my friend and Quest/CYO radio mentor for his kindness and service to others. For giving of himself and he worked to provide for his family.

I always liked when he would tell people I was his little brother.

Rest in Peace my friend, may GOD'S Bless You and always know you are not forgotten.

How blessed were each of us to have known Chuck Sutton?
I will miss my friend dearly whom I have known for over 19 years. At the same time, I am very grateful to have met the entire Sutton family here in New York and in San Antonio. They have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like family.
Chuck's spirit lives in each of his children and is witnessed everytime I am around them. His wife, Pat has become my new BFF. What a Special Woman!
Thank you Chuck for all the advice you have given me over the years and for all the laughs. Then again, that's how we met, Laughing. I was at a comedy show in Montreal during the Just for Laughs Festival, with my basketball team, the Shady Ladies, and Chuck noticed my laugh and sent some drinks over and we have been friends eversince. Typical, Classy Chuck.
Thank you, Chuck for always allowing me to be me!
To the Sutton family, as you continue to express your gratitude, please know that it was my pleasure to have been there during the toughest of times.
I promised Chuck that I would always be there for his family and plan on fulfilling that promise, afterall that's what friends are for.....

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

We can all celebrate a life well lived. We will cherish his memories forever.

Our prayers go out to Pat, Yusef, Amina, Clifton and Patrick.

God Bless you,

The Hays Family

My sincere sympathy and condolence go to the family of Chuck Sutton. Although it's been several years since I saw him, in my interaction with him professionally, I remember him as being amiable, respectful, good-hearted, with a gentle spirit. May God bless and comfort his family during this difficult time.

I worked with Chuck Sutton as the Amateur Night & Apollo Kids Segment Producer for "It's Showtime at the Apollo" for 15 years. We also worked together on the McDonald's Kids Talent Search for three years. We had our GOOD and bad times, but most of our times were GOOD. He took our crew to the Montreal Comedy Festival and on other major excursions. He will definitely be missed.
Luv,

There are so many kind things I could say about Mr. Sutton but there would not be enough room to say it., but you could not find a better friend and boss. Pat, Yusef, Amina. Chuckie, Wesley, and the entire Sutton family, please accept our sincerest sympathy. Margaret and Kika

Chuck, you have filled our hearts with lots of great memories, the joy and grand laughter to which you have filled our hearts.Fondest memories of the thanksgivings we shared, the fathers' day boat rides along the Hudson river, the moon shinning over our heads while we danced to the tropical tunes and indulging in the spike drinks etc. Our journey from Montreal, Canada to your homestead, which was embraced by all as one family. Our surprised unexpected visits just to see you. Chuck, my dear, rest in peace and we will meet again, no more pain, tear or grief, but full happiness. Adieu, you will be dearly missed but not forgotten.

What we see is transient. What we share is eternal. As you remember the love, as you mourn the loss, may you also celebrate the life.

Pat, Alexander, Yusef, Amina, Cliff, Patrick and extended family, I just want you to know that I mourn the loss of Chucky along with you. While you didn't really get to know me, I feel a part of the extended family. Our families have touched one another over the decades beginning with Rev. Sutton, your mother and my parents in the 40s & 50s, then when we were in Teen Canteen, at Jefferson HS, and beyond. Karen and I were like sisters back then. So I always felt very close to your family. It's been a relationship that has spanned over fifty years. Chucky left us too soon, but he has left a wonderful legacy behind. Peace and love.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, the family and friends, upon the loss of your dear "Chuck". I first met Chuck during the Youth for Black Campaign during the spring of '68 (I think). We discovered that we both planned to attend Thomas Jefferson High School in the fall of that year. As mentioned by someone earlier, he had such an infectious smile. I feel privileged to have known him.

I went to Jefferson High with Chuck and we shared many laughs.
His sense of humor was contagious.
I am proud to say he was my friend.
