CONSTANCE DREYER

DREYER--Constance,

died on Sunday, July 26 at NYU Langone Medical Center, age 74. Beloved wife and life partner of Dr. Benard Dreyer. Born August 3, 1940 in Broadalbin, NY, Constance was a long-term resident of New York who thrived on the pulse of the city. She was a brilliant hospital administrator whose last position was as Associate Executive for Bellevue Hospital, in charge of clinical services. She retired upon the birth of her last child. Constance and Benard were an inseparable team. She had a phenomenal intellect coupled with strong moral values. She had an indomitable spirit that lifted up all the people she touched. She was an extraordinarily loving person who gave of herself to so many, changing their lives for the better, even during her illness over the past six months. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Derek, Dimitra, and Craig and grandchildren, Adeline and Alma. Devoted and selfless, Constance shaped her children's lives in extraordinary ways. A memorial service will be planned in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Constance's memory to Children of Bellevue, KiDS of NYU Langone, The American Academy of Pediatrics Friends of Children or the Academic Pediatric Association Fund.
