I was deeply saddened to hear about Cynthia´s passing. My heart goes out to you and your family during this incredibly difficult time. You lost an amazing woman that had the ability to touch people across this country.

I wanted to share how much she meant to my children and to me. For the past two years, Cynthia was a bright and inspiring presence in their lives, particularly when she joined our class over Zoom. Her genuine warmth and authenticity made a lasting impression on them. She not only captivated their imaginations with her writing but also showed them the power of perseverance and creativity. They were thrilled to learn from her and ask questions about her writing process and career path. She made them believe in themselves and inspired them to dream big, and I will always be grateful for the impact she had on them.

She was truly an absolute gem, and her kindness, talent, and generosity of spirit will be sorely missed. I cannot imagine the depth of your loss, but please know that she will continue to live on in the hearts of the countless children she touched with her words and wisdom. She was authentic and surprising in her answers that made them laugh so hard. They are a tough crowd and she was their favorite every year.

My thoughts are with you and your family during this heartbreaking time. If there´s anything I can do, please don´t hesitate to reach out. My class would love to send you a video about what her books meant to us.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Jude Valdov

Cynthia DeFelice visited my school in Fairport and did presentations to the children. She was professional and well liked. I enjoyed having her as our guest author.

I worked as a Library Clerk in a nearby Middle School. I couldn´t begin to count the number of times I referred the students to her books. What a significant treasure she has endowed to enrich our youth.
