DANIEL WOLF

WOLF--Daniel. The Trustees and staff of The Metropolitan Museum of Art mourn the passing of Daniel Wolf, Benefactor and generous friend. An avid art collector, Daniel donated transformative works of art to The Met collection, including a group of iconic modern design pieces in memory of his late sister, Diane, as well as significant works by Ettore Sottsass that were featured in the 2017 exhibition "Ettore Sottsass: Design Radical" at The Met Breuer. In honor of the Museum's 150th anniversary, Daniel donated a rare family portrait daguerreo- type by Jean-Gabriel Eynard and, with his family, Thomas Eakins's "A Street Scene in Seville." Daniel's generosity to The Met was part of a long family tradition, as his mother, Joyce, is also a Benefactor, William Cullen Bryant Fellow, and member of the American Wing Visiting Committee, and his late father, Erving, was a Benefactor, Honorary Trustee, and William Cullen Bryant Fellow.
