DAVID W. MORGAN

MORGAN--David William, 85, died peacefully at home in Darien, CT January 20, 2014. A dedicated and beloved husband and father, he was surrounded by his wife of 42 years, Mary Louise Fitzsimmons, and children Mallory and David Jr. having battled Primary CNS Lymphoma for 22 months. Born July 6, 1928 in Cleveland, OH to Dr. John Benjamin Morgan and Bertha Amersbach Morgan; he graduated from La Salle University in 1950. Before founding Morgan Communications in 1978, he worked for Catalina Swimwear, Harper's Bazaar, Seventeen, and CBS. He represented the San Fransisco 49ers at the 2000-2006 NFL Drafts. A 32 year resident of Darien, he was active in town politics as elected Constable for 20 years. In 1986 he founded and ran the charity "Bikes For Bed-Stuy" for 13 years. He was a longtime member of the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club in NJ. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Church in Darien on January 25, 2014 at 10:00am. Donations may be made to www.burke.org
